The fashion designer and artist Hedi Slimane, internationally renowned as the driving force behind Dior Homme for seven years and one of the most influential designers in recent times, took a series of photographs of artists and Fibers, as well as different audio and visual recordings, during the past edition of FIB Heineken for a project he is developing in conjunction with MUSAC (The Castilla y León Museum of Contemporary Art) which will consist of the presentation of a multidisciplinary undertaking by Slimane in the halls of MUSAC in May of 2008, as commissioned by the museum’s Chief Curator Agustín Pérez Rubio. More information will be provided as the details of this exposition become available.
Slimane is a tireless explorer of the essence, of the moment, always in pure black-and-white to enhance the contrasts and textures of his subjects while bringing out their earthly qualities and nuances. If you would like to see it for yourself, don’t think twice about visiting his diary, where you will find a good part of the work this French artist did during the Festival. All the photos dated between the 22nd of July and the 20th of August were taken at FIB Heineken 2007.
