Social Responsibility

We at Maraworld are aware of the role festivals play, not only as cultural and economic driving forces, but also as social driving forces that can take advantage of their communication capacities and influence to inform and provoke reflection on different social questions and issues.

As such, FIB Heineken continues to support the informative and awareness-raising initiatives of various NGOs and non-profit organisations.

From 2003 until the Festival’s last edition in 2009, FIB Heineken has kept a very close relationship with Intermón Oxfam in terms of their needs in regards to campaign information, donations and new member recruitment. We must highlight the benefits earned through the Artist vs. Press football match and the parking management the NGO carried out and which benefits were destined to Intermón Oxfam’s different campaigns. In 2010 the NGO Ayuda en Acción will be the NGO responsible for carrying out the actions previously undertaken by Intermón Oxfam.

Ayuda en Acción

Ayuda en Acción is an International Organisation dedicated to Cooperation and Development that works to improve conditions of life of boys and girls, their families and their communities in impoverish countries.
Ayuda en Acción fights since 1981 against poverty, hunger an inequality through development projects and awareness campaigns in order to end the causes of poverty.

FIB Heineken will donate spaces within the venue for any NGO that requests them. In past editions, Amnesty International, CASDA and Greenpeace, among others, have developed information and awareness campaigns in the Festival.

Lastly, we must mention the presence of the Aarhus Festa Association since 2009; a collective that aims at informing about the risks associated with sexual relations and the consumption of drugs. Their main objective is to encourage personal and group responsibility in favour of a healthy coexistence as well as minimizing possible health risks.
