Project Demo is open to all new artists looking for the opportunity to get the word out about their talent. This is a Maraworld initiative that has been organised, since its first edition in 2001, by FIB Heineken, Radio Nacional de España (Radio 3) and MTV España. Since 2006, Go Mag has been this venture’s official media channel, along with the website www.muzikalia.com since 2007.
This contest has served as a launching pad for excellent bands like El Columpio Asesino, Audience, Velcro, No Neo, Lou Anne, Virüs, Standard, Tom Cary, Olimpic and Gentle Music Men, all of which were grand prize winners; as well as other bands like Garzón (now Grande-Marlaska), Bandini, Dead Capo, Underwater Tea Party, Nadadora, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Mendetz, Aeropuerto, Los Suizos and Loveless Face, all of which were runners-up.

FIB Heineken was invited by CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK to produce the music for its 49th edition (February 20-24, 2009). As such, FIBClub at CIBELES has become a space to highlight the live performances of up-and-coming bands from the Spanish “indie” scene as well as out-of-the-ordinary DJ sessions by some of the most interesting designers: Carlos Díez, Potipoti, Amaya Arzuaga along with Javier Peral, and Ana Locking featuring Rafa Doctor. Not to mention other DJs and artists like Blanca DB, Johann Wald y Calcetines, Lidia Damunt and Klaus & Kinski.
On July 19, 2008, the Juan Carlos I Auditorium at the Campo de las Naciones in Madrid hosted the first Saturday Night Fiber, an urban party featuring the hottest names of the FIB Heineken 2008 line-up: My Bloody Valentine, Mika, Morrissey, Siouxsie, Babyshambles, Hot Chip and The Rumble Strips as well as DJ Supermarkt.

DAA (Designers Against AIDS) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to raise public awareness about AIDS. In a venture combining music and fashion to promote safe sex, an international contest for the design of the official FIBERS AGAINST AIDS T-shirt was launched. All proceeds raised were designated to AIDS-prevention educational programmes.
Furthermore, during the Festival, in the Mustang Fashion Weekend tent, DAA exhibited its DAA Remade collection: one-of-a-kind garments ‘custom-made’ by musicians, designers and other outstanding artists of the Spanish avant-garde. This project was first presented at La Casa Encendida in Madrid.
The fashion designer and artist Hedi Slimane is internationally renowned as the ‘mastermind’ of Dior Homme for seven years and as one of the most influential designers in recent times. Slimane attended FIB Heineken 2007 with the objective or immortalising the vibe and environment that springs up from our annual celebration of music. The results our his groundbreaking work can be appreciated in the photography book Rock Diary and in the log Slimane himself keeps online at hedislimane.com. This project enjoyed the collaboration of MUSAC (The Castilla y León Museum of Contemporary Art), where Slimane held an exhibition that was co-produced by Maraworld.
MUSAC and FIB Heineken began collaborating together in 2006 with MUSAC at Benicàssim, as part of the FIBArt 06 programming. As such, the most cutting-edge art expanded beyond its standard museum walls and was shown in an original and innovative way within the context of an eminently musical event. The Festival’s screens thus became a new exhibition space for high-quality video creations.
A year later, this MUSAC-FIB Heineken collaboration led to the book Benicàssim: The Festival featuring the works of six prestigious photographers (Carmela García, Cristina García Rodero, Immo Klink, Ángel Marcos, Álvaro Villarrubia and Massimo Vitali) who travelled to the Festival to capture the diverse and thrilling vibes that are the lifeblood of the event. The book was published with the collaboration of the publishing house ACTAR and Fundación Bancaja.
This book was launched at a party hosted by Jay Jay Johanson at MUSAC, where the itinerant exhibition was unveiled in the museum’s Laboratorio 987 room. This exhibition will be travelling around different cities of Spain until January 2010.

Un-pop Classik was an initiative undertaken in 2006 by some of the most important European festivals: FIB Heineken (Spain), Les Nuits Botaniques (Belgium), Les Eurockéennes de Belfort (France) and Spot (Denmark).
This was a new kind of cultural exchange intended to overcome stylistic barriers in music and advance the ideals of artistic expression. Each festival chose a band from its own country which performed at the other participating festivals accompanied by local symphonic orchestras. The bands chosen to participate in this venture were The Sunday Drivers (Spain), Venus (Belgium), Teitur (Denmark) and Dionysos (France).

In 2004, on the Festival’s tenth anniversary, ten designers who had previously unveiled their collections on the FIB catwalk created exclusive T-shirt designs in a limited series of 100 units each. The designers chosen for this initiative were Ion Fiz, Davidelfin, La Casita de Wendy, José Miró, Roberto Díaz, Lolamento, Anke Schlöder, Gabriel Torres, Ropa Positiva and Tiago Valente
On June 11, 2004, FIB Heineken presented “3,650 Days”, a photo-clip retrospective featuring some of the Festival’s most exciting moments to date within the framework of PHE04 (PhotoEspaña in the Street). This montage of images was developed by the filmmaker and video creator Beatriz Caravaggio. The soundtrack for this montage was recorded exclusively for this occasion by the composer, producer and DJ Rec_Overflow.
A photography book featuring the best shots from the Festival’s archives of the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 editions. Contributing photographers included Oscar L. Tejeda. Liberto Peiró, Robert M. Awa, Juan de la Fuente, Pau Bellido, Nathalie Paco and Kike Olmedo. Texts were contributed by Víctor Lenore, Eduardo Guillot, Xavi Cervantes and Jesús Llorente, among others. This is an indispensable collection of the most thrilling moments of the Festival’s first years of life, including Ride, The Charlatans, The Pastels, Suede, Los Planetas, Cinerama, Hefner, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey and Björk.
