For the second year in a row, MUSAC (The Castilla y León Museum of Contemporary Art) and FIB Heineken join forces in Benicàssim. As part of FIB-Art’07, a selection of video-creations from the museum’s collection will travel to the Festival’s venue where, during the days of the big event, the moving art of artists – both up-and-coming and world-acclaimed – like Fikret Atay, Patty Chang, Jesper Just, Cristina Lucas, Bjørn Melhus, Fernando Renes and Martín Sastre will be seen by thousands of young people. Once again, the Festival’s screens will become exhibition space for video-creation works of great quality.
And of the entire selection made for this year, one stands out as the matron of honour of what could be called the celebration of the first anniversary of relations between FIB Heineken and MUSAC: Pipilotti Rist, the queen of visual narration, will arrive with her work Homo Sapiens , a spectacular video-installation that represented the artist at the 2005 Biennale of Venice and which was later reinterpreted for the space at MUSAC in 2006, finally becoming part of the museum’s permanent collection.
