Extra-musical Activities

Do you have to pay to see the extra-musical activities?
All of the extra-musical activities are free, except for the Short Film Festival, for which tickets to each showing cost €2.50 with a Festival wristband or €4 without a Festival wristband. The theatre performances are free.

Where and when do the extra-musical activities take place?
-The Mustang Fashion Weekend takes place at the concert venue in the fashion tent.
-FIB-Art can be visited in diverse and sundry places throughout Benicàssim from mid-July to the end of the summer.
-FIB-Actúa, the theatre festival, will take place in open-air spaces throughout the town and the concert venue as well as at the Velodrome and Municipal Theatre.
-The Short Film Festival will take place in the Benicàssim Theatre, where you will be able to vote for your favourite short film, and maybe it will win the Audience Award!
-The Dance performances are also free, taking place at Torreón beach the Wednesday of the week of the Festival
-The Summer Courses will be held at the Hotel Bonaire in Benicàssim. You must sign up for these courses in advance since space is limited. You can sign up at the Universitat Jaume I website: www.uji.es

I would like to participate in the Short Film Festival. How can I go about doing this?
A selection of 25 short films will be made for the Festival, all shot on 35 or 15 mm film and all having wrapped up filming between 30 April 2007 and 30 April 2008. All kinds of films are considered (fiction, animation, documentaries, experimental projects), but special focus will be placed on works which represent some kind of innovation in the world of cinema – projects which in some way push the envelope of the Seventh Art. In order to be considered for selection, a copy of your short film must be presented in VHS format and can have a running time of no more than 30 minutes. I have made a short film on video. Is there any chance of showing my work at the Short Film Festival?
If your short film is recorded on video, you cannot participate in the Official Section of the Short Film Festival or be considered for any awards; however, you can take part in the Short Films on Video Exhibition. This exhibition also takes place at the Municipal Theatre of Benicàssim during one of the days of the Festival. In order to participate, you must send your short film to the same address as submissions for the Official Section of the Short Film Festival (see the “Short Films” section of www.fiberfib.com), specifying that your submission is for the Short Films on Video Exhibition.

I am a fashion-design student and would like to show my work at the Mustang Fashion Weekend. How can I go about doing this?
Each year FIB Heineken organises a contest for students enrolled in fashion-design schools. The prize is the production of the winner’s first collection (from paper to garments) and its unveiling during the Festival at one of the Mustang Fashion Weekend shows.
