Our “Cita con la Danza” is a showcase where young dancers and choreographers, as well as prestigious professionals meet and bring the best of their productions so that Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Spanish Dance, Flamenco and Fusion can be shown to an attentive public increasing in number every year.

This year once again, due to the collaboration of Terpsicore, the Vice Rector for culture of the Jaime I University, the Riba Danza Association and the Cultural department of Benicasim Town Hall, we are able to hold the Fifth edition of “ Fragments of 20th Century Masterpieces” workshop.

20 young dancers will learn “FIRSTEXT“ created on 1995 for Royal Ballet by William Forsythe, one of the world’s leading choreographers of XX Century .He has generously ceded the rights.

The workshop will be held at the Violant de Casalduch Institute of Benicasim from 30 of June to 14 of july.

Amancio González a great interpreter (Scottish Ballet, NAPAC Dance,De Rotterdamse Dansgroep Reflex,Dansgeselschaft, Scapino Ballet ) and Principal Dancer of Frankfurt Ballet and the Company actually directed from W. Forsythe, together with Patsy Kuppe-Matt, guest teacher at the Stuttgart Ballet, the Vienna Opera and other prestigious companies will be responsible for the preparation and presentation.

Jone San Martín, dancer, choreographer and Principal Dancer of W. Forsythe Company will share workshop direction from 9 to 13 de July.

The workshop is free and young dancers who have an adequate technical standard and would like to participate should send their personal details, telephone and email, a photocopy of ID and a recording of their dancing without special effects before the 30 of April 2010 to:

In Barcelona and in collaboration with La Companyia directed by Elise Lummis, Jean Emile dancer of the “Nederlands Dans Theater I”, choreographer and teacher of the “Alvin Ailey School”, at the moment invited teacher and choreographer of La Companyia, will create a new piece for young dancers,not yet professionally involved, called “Citoyen”with music by Zap Mama, which will be shown for the first time at the XII Cita con la Danza Fib.
