Their name seems to be an out-and-out homage to B horror films. The Brits going by the name of The Horrors paint their songs with dark tones, but they do so in a crazy way, with upbeat rhythms and crisp choruses. As if that were not enough, their spine-tingling image makes them seem like candidates for a Bela Lugosi or Peter Lorre casting. It comes as no surprise that they wholeheartedly cite their influences as Screaming Lord Sutch, The Cramps, Joe Meek and Edward Gorey.

And their music? Well, it boils down to a kind of hard-hitting rock, which as presented on “Strange House”, proves that Faris Badwan, Tomethy Furse, Joshua Von Grimm, Spider Webb and Coffin Joe are ready for just about anything.
