This British band defies categorisation. The reasons for this lie in a sound that seems to be fuelled by reminiscences of the rave movement at the ends of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s as well as the latest in rock and luminaries such as William Burroughs and the occultist Aleister Crowley.
But the music of Jamie Reynolds, James Righton and Simon Taylor, far from a jumbled mess, boasts a mesmerising sense of rhythm and urgency, such as is found on their album “Myths of the Near Future” – a veritable showcase of beats, riffs, lyrics and messages which have made Klaxons one of the greatest surprises of the year with one of the brightest futures ahead of it.
