The great sensitivity of this German is perhaps one of the characteristics that best adorn the releases of the recording label Kompakt. And that’s saying a lot.

Justus Köhncke knows how to spice up his music with traces of pop that reveal his appreciation for the genre. Albums like “Spiralen der Erinnerung” (iCi Records, 1999), which features unique covers of songs by Carole King, Janis Ian and Neil Young; “Was Ist Musik” (Kompakt, 2002); “Doppelleben” (Kompakt, 2005); and “Safe and Sound” (Kompakt, 2008) are highly charged with classy melodies and dance beats.
