It’s impossible not to dance to their music. In their songs, these four guys from Glasgow reveal all their resources and win hands-down when it comes to making thrilling music. This band, led by Alex Kapranos, comes to FIB Heineken 09 to promote their soon-to-be-released “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand” (2009), an album that puts a new twist on their effective approach to song-writing. This is not a band to rest on its laurels. Rather, they are more enthusiastic than ever about redefining their sound without losing touch with their identity.

Albums like their self-titled debut, released in 2004, and its follow-up, “You Could Have It So Much Better” (2005), led them to be compared with bands like Orange Juice and Josef K due to their use of rhythm as a key element in making the sparks fly. And this could not be clearer in their live performances, where this band gets their audiences worked up in a no-holds-barred dance vibe. “Take Me Out”, “Michael”, “Do You Want To”, “Fallen”, and their new single “Ulysses” are just a few sample of the genius of a band whose energetic pop is highly contagious and exciting.
