As he does every year, Aldo Linares will open the Festival with a sequence of songs reflecting his taste for pop in the broadest sense of the word. Rockabilly, rocksteady, pop and technopop are brought together in sessions which make him stand apart from standard DJs.

In his songs, published by labels such as Spicnic, Acuarela and Jabalina, something similar happens. These seem to evoke the spirits of Joe Meek and singers from the past with suits and slicked back hair in brief encounters of melancholy and rhythm. Brill Cream Rock’n’Roll and echoes of the most evocative electronic pop are reflected in minutes which speak of ghostly highways, loves, encounters with beings from other dimensions, betrayals, moments of shame, pride and dreams in a rendez vous with backlight and romanticism.
