When you arrive at Benicàssim, before getting settled at your chosen lodgings -campsites or hotels- please consider the following advice:

1) If you are staying at one of the festival’s campsites, either CampFIB -free of charge area- or VillaCamp -paid for area-, first go to Wristband Exchange to change your ticket -print at home or ticket- for the wristband that will allow you to access both the campsites and the concert venue.

a) If you are staying at CampFIB, you will only need to pick up one wristband that gives access to the campsites and the venue. Remember only 3 and 4 day ticket holders and VIP Pass holders holders have access to this camping area.

b) If you are staying at VillaCamp, the paid for camping area, you will have to present two tickets: one for access to the venue -i.e. day ticket, 3 or 4 day pass, VIP Pass, or 4 day Pack- and another for VillaCamp; you will be given two wristbands: one to access the venue and another to access VillaCamp. Remember you will only be able to get the wristband for VillaCamp at the wristband exchange.

2) If you are staying at a hotel or a private camping we recommend you check in before going to the wristband exchange for your wristband.

The Wristband Exchange is located at the Venue Entrance Hall

In order to access the venue you must have one of the following:
3 day ticket
4 day ticket
4 day pack
One day ticket (thursday, friday, saturday or sunday)
These tickets must be exchanged for their corresponding wristband at the Wristband Exchange -Venue Entrance Hall -

VIP Pass
Accreditation
The wrisbands corresponding to both VIP Passes and Accreditations must be picked up at Accreditations –Venue Entrance Hall –

In order to access the festival camping areas you must have one of the following:

CampFIB.- 3 or 4 day ticket or VIP Pass. With these wristbands you can also access the camping areas.

Caravans.- 3 or 4 day ticket or VIP Pass as well as a Caravan Ticket.

VillaCamp.- One day Ticket, 3 or 4 day ticket, VIP Pass or 4 day Pack. Apart from the wristband that gives access to the venue you must have a wristband that gives access to VillaCamp. This wristband can be purchased at the Wristband Exchange – Venue Entrance Hall-.

In order to access the VillaCamp Stage you must have:
Any ticket valid for FIB 2011.

The footbridge that crosses the N-340 will be in use from monday july 11 to monday july 18 with the following opening hours: Monday 11, tuesday 12 and wednesday 13, from 09.00 to 22.00. It will be open non-stop from 09.00 on thursday july 14 to 08.00 monday july 18.

There will be free WI FI at the venue, up to one hour of navigation per device, from thursday july 14 at 17.30 to monday july 18 at 07.30.

The few last 4 day tickets with free camping will be sold today, Friday May 27th.
From tomorrow May 28th , we will begin selling 4 day Packs – 4 day tickets without camping – which will be sold for £165.
The total number of Packs that will be sold is around 10.000.
We’d also like to remind you that VIP Passes are still being sold (325 €) as well as VillaCamp passes (75 €) for the paid for camping area that will open from Monday July 11th to Monday July 18th. VillaCamp camping can be bought by anyone who has a ticket for FIB 2011: VIP Passes, 4 day Tickets with camping and 4 day Packs (without camping).

FIB’s International Short Film Festival has extended the registration deadline for both categories: Music Videos and Short Films, until May 23rd at 12:00PM.

For 2011 FIB Short Films has invited the International Film Festival of Gijon to its Guest Festival section. From Gijon to Benicassim they will bring a great selection of short and long films.

One of these will be Todas las canciones hablan de mí, the first feature film by Jonás Trueba. The title of the film in English would be Every song talks about me and it examines the feelings and uncertainty of a break up and the search for new experiences. The soundtrack is another character in the film and is indispensable for those attending the festival since it is a precise portrait of our generation.

Un año más FIB Cortos cuenta en su programación con la sección de Festival Invitado. En 2011 será el Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón el encargado de ofrecernos una selección de trabajos en formato de corto y largometraje.

Entre ellos la película Todas las canciones hablan de mí, la ópera prima de Jonás Trueba. Cuenta, tras la ruptura de una pareja en busca de nuevas experiencias, los sentimientos e incertidumbres que esa situación provoca. La banda sonora es esencial en la película. Imprescindible para el público del Festival como retrato de nuestra generación.

Plan B, James Murphy, The Joy Formidable, Antònia Font e Indienella are the new additions to the FIB 2011´s line up. These new confirmations now add up to the already confirmed Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Mumford & Sons, Portishead, The Strokes, Primal Scream, Brandon Flowers, etc.

Benjamin Paul Ballance-Grew, aka Plan B, has published two albums: “Who Needs Actions When You Got Words” (2006) and “The Defamation of Strickland Banks” (2010). The first album is Hip Hop and the second, Soul. The stylistic jump – Gin this case, going back in time-, just shows that Plan B is a composer and interpreter of great talent. Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye all soar throughout “The Defamation of Strickland Banks”, the work that has definitely placed him number 1 on British rankings.

James Murphy has revolutionized pop music in general and electronic music more particularly for years. He’s been the head of the highly influential label DFA on one hand and frontman of volcanic LCD Soundsystem on the other. Unfortunately, Murphy has recently decided to end the NY combo’s career after a decade agitating dance floors and a discography full of great findings and unrepeatable moments that have already become an important part of Music history.

The highly demanded trio from Wales (based in London) started their career with the publication of ‘A Balloon Called Moaning’ (2008). This mini Lp with 8 songs ended up awakening the interest of well known British and International publications. Their 90’s rock songs mixed in with a frenetic, epic and popular touch led them to sign with Canvasback Music/Atlantic records and work with mixer and producer Rich Costey (Foo Fighters, Muse, Glasvegas). They’ve toured with bands such as The Temper Trap, Editors or Passion Pity. All of this as an opening for their longed for debut LP “The Big Roar”, which was published at the beginning of the year. Without a doubt we stand before one of the greatest promises both for the present and future.

The origins of the band from Mallorca go back to 1997 when they published a demo with four songs with which they toured around the Island’s bars. From there on, they went to publishing their first LP, “Antònia Font” (1999), which would define their particular style that lies somewhere between the fantastic and domestic; alternating between journeys to made up worlds and the most mundane routines, with the special touch that Catalan language adds to them. Twelve years and six albums later – the last one, “Lamparetes” (2011) -, Antònia Font has consolidated as one of the most important bands of our country; following a geometric progression that seems to never end.

Sofía Pedreira (vocals and bass) and Luis Mayo (vocals and guitar) formed Indienella in Gijón (Spain) in 2005. Their first demo had an important impact in Internet as well as radio and nationally held contests. Their music sounds like a lo-fi minimalist garage very much in line with that of TV personalities. They’ve taken very good care of their image and its resemblance to what could be categorized as a musical collector’s item look (self editing numbered vinyl’s) make Indienella a rare addition to the Spanish independent music scene.
